Why should India prepare for a two front war

Recent tensions between India and China on the eastern front of India has exposed a grim reality on India. That it must be ready to fight a two front multi theater war. The threats emitting from Chinese media threatening India for helping its smallest neighbour Bhutan against an aggressive chinese invasion is a game ploy by the PLA to test Indian resolve.

China claims of a peaceful rise of the communist China on world stage currently is not possible unless it has competition on the Asian front. Currently as the size goes China is surely a heavy weight, but is still countered by Japan, India and ofcourse heavy presence of US military in South Korea and Japan. China sees them as rivals to its claim of a Asian Super Power. Thus China has also planted its own pawns in the region by using regional disputes to its own advantage. Even though it has its own regional disputes with almost all the countries in the region, China also has "Allies" or Pawns to be used for its advantage in any conflict.

China's allies include North Korea, Pakistan who are its strong supporters and also look for its support for their conflicts against their regional rivals, South Korea and India respectively.

Both of these smaller "allies" are now nuclear power thanks to the support provided by the Chinese.

India already is in proxy conflict with Pakistan and could still handle them if not interfered by Chinese, But now with Cpec road from China to Pakistan, China will have a 12 month access to any corner of Pakistan within a notice of 24 hours and thus could rust its military down the Himalayas to aid Pakistani troops. This is proven by threats provided by chinese media.

Also it has build a better infrastructure in Tibet to "teach INDIA a lesson" if required.

India needs to increase its military budget from a current $50 billion to atleast $75 billion to match Chinese and pakistani moves. Its current army strength of 1.3 million should be increased to more than 2 million to counter a massive PLA of 2.3 million. Its airforce should have atleast 50 squadrons with 25 permanently based in east to face china. Its Navy should have atleast 2 carriers and 25-30 submarines to ward off PLAN threat.

Indian army in its current form is not properly equip to fight PLA if they attack from 2 fronts.

Dil Dosti Duniyari: Marathi "Friends" in the making

Zee Marathi has produced quality serials over a 15 year period, but now it has started showing shows which have some kind of international connection.

The latest example is Dil Dosti Duniyadari which seems to be a copy of "Friends". A story revolving around 6 friends with 3 boys and 3 girls strike a staking similarity with its English counterpart.  The only difference is it has kept some innocence left with it compare to its English counterpart.

As per Indian sensibility it has kept the sexual attraction part away from the serial  even if all the actors are adults, thus it seems to more appealing to a wider audience

First Unmanned Flight done by an Indian! Shivkar Bapuji Talpade

All is well known about Wright brothers and their historic 1903 first man powered flight in US, but little is known that 8 years earlier in 1895 an Indian designed and flew a plane for 1500 metres before it crashed. The Man was Shivkar Bapuji Talpade.

India at that time was ruled by the British, and they didnt document the flight as it would have proved them inferior to their Indian servants.

The plane was called MarutSakha which means "Wind Friend" in Sanskrit. The flight was seen by well known respected dignitries of the time

5 golden rules when you get a job in a small entreprise

People dream big! Of big offers, Of big salaries and of big corporate jobs, but its always not the case. Sometimes you will have to settle for something which is not as big, but better than not having a job at all. We sometimes take offers from small enterprises to make our days meal or just to earn a few bucks, this is so true of freshers in the job, but we may think that there is still a better opportunity outside and leave the job within a few days of work.

Here are 5 golden rules for people just in this mindset:
  1. If you think there is a better opportunity, think before accepting the offer else you can reject it in interview itself.
  2. Once you join the company as an employee, you have committed your loyally towards the organization (no matter how small) and have accepted its location and work conditions.
  3. Communicate all your queries to the manager or owner for necessary feedback. Sometimes miscommunication may lead to a blacklisting of your name from further employment.
  4. Treat your employers with same respect and gratitude you would to any manager of a big company, you will never know when this company may become big and you would not like your name to be in the blacklist that time
  5. If you like to leave the company for not being to "Your standards" communicate the same to the manager or owner and be frank in your approach. Sometimes it may help them to improve their organisation and also keep you in their good books.
Remember any organization, no matter how small has a chance to be big (Remember Google was started in a garage and not in some fancy "Campus" you see today) so never miss your chance to rejoin the same company only due to a little "Attitude" you displayed when the organization was small.

Can freelancers handling your IT requirements destory your business?

Currently in India we are in a transition economic state where many small and medium enterprises are budding up owned by young entrepreneurs or by middle aged people who have left a well paid job to do something of their own.

But when you start such an enterprises you cant be a master of all trades and an enterprise needs all the departments to work in perfect sync. You can be master of marketing, technical design and development, IT or finance. but cant be the master of all the departments. You need some professional help to regulate all these departments.

Many of these entrepreneurs depend on their friends or relatives with some knowledge of technology to guide them in setting up an IT infrastructure.

But is it a good move?

There are always young and energetic "advisers" available for the latest and best in technology, but can we as entrepreneurs should be dependent on them  and hand over a part of our business to them? There are many questions to be answered before we take such a step

  1. What is the persons commitment towards my business?
  2. He has knowledge fine, but does he have the experience to advice or take crucial decisions on behalf of my business?
  3. He is motivated now, but what if he gets a better offer than what i can ever offer?
  4. What if he tomorrow starts to take over or interfere in my business more than what is expected from him?
all these questions should be asked to self before associating with such individuals with our own business

Remember: These people can be asset or a very huge liability to any company, but its always better and secure to take help from a professional company who is paid to handle your requirements and have no other motives or stakes in your business.

India, Isro gear up for Mars odyssey glory

MUMBAI/CHENNAI/BANGALORE: At sharp 6.08am on Sunday just as the sun was rising over Sriharikota, the final 56-and-a-half-hour countdown for the much-awaited launch of India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) started. The Rs 450-crore Mars mission, which has attracted worldwide interest, is slated for lift-off at 2.38pm on November 5 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. On November 1, Isro's launch authorization board had given the final green signal for the launch of the MOM.

The nod was based on the flawless launch rehearsal on October 31. With just two days left for the lift- off, all systems on Sunday received a "go" for India's date with the Red Planet. State-run Doordarshan will telecast the launch live from 2pm onwards on November 5.

The mission is in the last stages of readiness, with propellant being filled in the fourth and last phase of the rocket at 1.30pm.

Scientists at the spaceport told TOI that all the preparations are going on as per schedule. "The weather is fine and all parameters are just great for the launch," an Indian Space Research Organisation official said.

India will be the sixth — after the US, Russia, China, Japan and the European Union—to launch a Mars mission. Once launched, the satellite is expected to take more than 40 minutes to get injected into Earth's orbit.

The orbiter will remain in Earth orbit till December 1 when it starts its 300-day voyage to Mars. It is expected to reach the orbit of the red planet on September 24, 2014, after traversing 400 million km. The two tracking ships of Shipping Corporation of India — SCI Nalanda and SCI Yamuna — have taken their positions in the South Pacific, off Fiji, for monitoring the mission. during the initial phases of the launch and the separation of the spacecraft from the fourth stage of the rocket.

ToI has learnt that scientists at the mission control centres of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the European Space Agency and the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency will also monitor the launch. The official Facebook page of the mission, which was launched on October 22, has proved immensely popular and garnered nearly 20,000 hits so far. Isro completed filling of mixed oxides of nitrogen into the fourth stage of the launch vehicle. The final nod for the mission was given by the Launch Authorisation Board on November 1, after Isro completed its successful rehearsal on October 31.

The payload has five indigenous instruments that will look for, among other things, traces of methane and deuterium, signs of possible early life and water in Mars. Of the 51 such missions by the US and Russia/USSR, 21 have been successful.

"Orbiting Mars itself is a challenge," said Isro chairman K Radhakrishnan. "This is our first interplanetary mission. There will be bigger missions later." Fourteen days after the Indian mission, the US will be launching a similar Mars orbiter called Maven.

Nasa will provide earthly support to MOM

Nasa will help Isro with ground monitoring from three deep-space facilities after the launch. The American space agency will send its own probe, Maven, 13 days later. The American agency is under budget pressure and has faced cuts to proposed Mars missions in 2016 and 2018 despite having an overall objective, set by US President Barack Obama, of sending an astronaut there by 2030.

The United States is the only nation that has successfully sent robotic explorers to land on Mars, the most recent being Curiosity, a nearly one-tonne vehicle which touched down in August 2012. One of its discoveries appeared to undercut the purpose of the Indian mission after a study published in September revealed Curiosity detected only trace elements of methane in the Mars atmosphere.

Cashforvisits.com: A possible scam

In the world of PTC scam websites lets add another name of Cashforvisits.com. The website claims to give a $25 bonus for joining and then $10 for every unique visit. Promotion of link is through facebook, twitter and other social media mediums. The minimum payout is $300. But the payout process is complex and full of fraudulent sites. The task is never complete because the user is not clear what is the task to be completed? Its is highly likely that you wont be paid a penny in the end. I rate this site as a site to be watched for any scams coming up. Beware!!!

Facebook Marketing! Is Facebook loosing it?

Social media marketing is currently lead by posting your business needs and products on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. But are these 3 "BIG" leaders of SMM really worth the buck? Social Media Marketing came to being in late 2000s as a new trend of marketing your products online via social media. It was predicted that these 3 BIG social media giants with a combine membership of more than 2 Billion internet users will challenge google monopoly in online marketing. But it has not yet happens? Mostly Social Media is used by youngsters with influential minds but very little monetary power. Thus even if you generate lots of likes through social media, it is very unlikely that you will generate sales through this medium. Saying so I still accept its a very good medium to market your brand among the customers of tomorrow. Social media and particularly Facebook has been the target of Forrester Research who says that as per research "Facebook is failing the marketers"
Thus Facebook is still a nascent stage to be considered as a real advertisement solution for established brands.

How much time does it take for SEO results to show up (especially in Google)

It depends on how frequently Google indexes the site content. You can use the site:command to find out the indexing pattern.
In case Google is crawling the website in a week or lesser duration, chances are that the changes will be picked up quickly. This will be better if you use One Click from home page for identifying new content for Google. The existing crawl pattern depends majorly on the New content that is being added to the website. It could be:
  • New blogs
  • New press release
  • Product updates
  • Other fresh content
If no new content is being generated on the website, Google sees the site as a “slow update” one and the crawl pattern could be slow, sometimes more than a month. But, here are the ways you can use to signal Google that the site is updated frequently: Building Links - It is good to get new links, as it improves indexing. You can ask your friends, business associates, or an acquaintance with a blog to pass a link to your website. Press Release - Issue a Press Release with judicious links and Google will notice it quickly. Social Mentions - Google considers Tweets and Google+ updates valuable. Home Page - You should rotate the content through the home page of the website. Anything that is just a click away from the home page will get Google’s attention and help the site in getting indexed. Slowly, start training Google to index your website by changing the keywords. Google loves websites, which delivery fresh and timely content to users. You can start off with a weekly update pattern.
