Had a time to visit Khodala, near Igatpuri Maharashtra on the western ghats in India. Its a great natural resort of sorts. We stayed at a resort known as "Wild Camp" there. Its a well know resort with cottages and dorms available.
You can also enjoy nature by visiting exciting places nearby like Upper Vaitarna Lake which is on the way.

This place is just 125 Km from Thane and 165 Km from Mumbai. Nearest Railway station is Igatpuri, near Nasik.
