The Chinese are wasting no time horsing around. Around a month after
their last reported land incursion on June 17, around 50 soldiers of
China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA), on horses and ponies, intruded
into the Indian territory of Chumar near Daulat Beg Oldie in Ladakh and
staked claim to it.
Sources claim that the Chinese troops began their incursion into the
Chumar area on the evening of July 16 and stayed within the Indian side
till the next morning.
Army sources confirm the incursion, saying Indian troops intercepted
the PLA patrol in Chumar and after the usual banner drill between the
two sides, the Chinese went back into their territory.
But, sources say, tensions ran high. The PLA troops reportedly told the
Indian soldiers to vacate the area, claiming that they were on Chinese
territory.
The incursion comes soon after two of China’s helicopters violated the Indian air space on July 11 in Chumar sector.
It was the same area in the Leh-Ladakh sector that Chinese troops had
intruded into on June 17 and threatened the locals in Hindi. They even
broke some surveillance cameras that the Indian army had installed in
the area.
Chumar, about 300km from Leh, has always been a sore point for the
Chinese troops as this is the only area along the border where they do
not have any direct access to the line of actual control.
The latest incursion took place on the day India gave its nod to the
creation of a 50,000-personnel strong Mountain Strike Corps along the
border.
The frequency of such incursions increased around the time defence minister AK Antony visited China earlier this month.

India, Isro gear up for Mars odyssey glory
MUMBAI/CHENNAI/BANGALORE:
At sharp 6.08am on Sunday just as the sun was rising over Sriharikota,
the final 56-and-a-half-hour countdown for the much-awaited launch of
India's Mars Orbiter Mission (MOM) started. The Rs 450-crore Mars
mission, which has attracted worldwide interest, is slated for lift-off
at 2.38pm on November 5 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre,
Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh. On November 1, Isro's launch
authorization board had given the final green signal for the launch of
the MOM.
The nod was based on the flawless launch rehearsal on October 31. With just two days left for the lift- off, all systems on Sunday received a "go" for India's date with the Red Planet. State-run Doordarshan will telecast the launch live from 2pm onwards on November 5.
The mission is in the last stages of readiness, with propellant being filled in the fourth and last phase of the rocket at 1.30pm.
Scientists at the spaceport told TOI that all the preparations are going on as per schedule. "The weather is fine and all parameters are just great for the launch," an Indian Space Research Organisation official said.
India will be the sixth — after the US, Russia, China, Japan and the European Union—to launch a Mars mission. Once launched, the satellite is expected to take more than 40 minutes to get injected into Earth's orbit.
The orbiter will remain in Earth orbit till December 1 when it starts its 300-day voyage to Mars. It is expected to reach the orbit of the red planet on September 24, 2014, after traversing 400 million km. The two tracking ships of Shipping Corporation of India — SCI Nalanda and SCI Yamuna — have taken their positions in the South Pacific, off Fiji, for monitoring the mission. during the initial phases of the launch and the separation of the spacecraft from the fourth stage of the rocket.
ToI has learnt that scientists at the mission control centres of Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the European Space Agency and the Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency will also monitor the launch. The official Facebook page of the mission, which was launched on October 22, has proved immensely popular and garnered nearly 20,000 hits so far. Isro completed filling of mixed oxides of nitrogen into the fourth stage of the launch vehicle. The final nod for the mission was given by the Launch Authorisation Board on November 1, after Isro completed its successful rehearsal on October 31.
The payload has five indigenous instruments that will look for, among other things, traces of methane and deuterium, signs of possible early life and water in Mars. Of the 51 such missions by the US and Russia/USSR, 21 have been successful.
"Orbiting Mars itself is a challenge," said Isro chairman K Radhakrishnan. "This is our first interplanetary mission. There will be bigger missions later." Fourteen days after the Indian mission, the US will be launching a similar Mars orbiter called Maven.
Nasa will provide earthly support to MOM
Nasa will help Isro with ground monitoring from three deep-space facilities after the launch. The American space agency will send its own probe, Maven, 13 days later. The American agency is under budget pressure and has faced cuts to proposed Mars missions in 2016 and 2018 despite having an overall objective, set by US President Barack Obama, of sending an astronaut there by 2030.
The United States is the only nation that has successfully sent robotic explorers to land on Mars, the most recent being Curiosity, a nearly one-tonne vehicle which touched down in August 2012. One of its discoveries appeared to undercut the purpose of the Indian mission after a study published in September revealed Curiosity detected only trace elements of methane in the Mars atmosphere.

Cashforvisits.com: A possible scam
In the world of PTC scam websites lets add another name of Cashforvisits.com. The website claims to give a $25 bonus for joining and then $10 for every unique visit. Promotion of link is through facebook, twitter and other social media mediums. The minimum payout is $300. But the payout process is complex and full of fraudulent sites. The task is never complete because the user is not clear what is the task to be completed? Its is highly likely that you wont be paid a penny in the end.
I rate this site as a site to be watched for any scams coming up.

Facebook Marketing! Is Facebook loosing it?
Social media marketing is currently lead by posting your business needs and products on Facebook, Twitter and Linkedin. But are these 3 "BIG" leaders of SMM really worth the buck?
Social Media Marketing came to being in late 2000s as a new trend of marketing your products online via social media. It was predicted that these 3 BIG social media giants with a combine membership of more than 2 Billion internet users will challenge google monopoly in online marketing. But it has not yet happens?
Mostly Social Media is used by youngsters with influential minds but very little monetary power. Thus even if you generate lots of likes through social media, it is very unlikely that you will generate sales through this medium. Saying so I still accept its a very good medium to market your brand among the customers of tomorrow.
Social media and particularly Facebook has been the target of Forrester Research who says that as per research "Facebook is failing the marketers"
Thus Facebook is still a nascent stage to be considered as a real advertisement solution for established brands.

:Cricket World Cup 2015: Afghanistan Qualify for world Cup
Afghanistan beat Kenya by seven wickets, at the Sharjah Cricket
Stadium, to earn automatic qualification to the ICC Cricket World Cup
2015.
Chasing a meagre 94, after the Kenyans were dismissed in 43.3 overs, Afghanistan went through several anxious moments but were home with 175 deliveries to spare.
Afghanistan lost Mohammad Shahzad (1), Asghar Stanikzai (9) and Nawroz Mangal (19) cheaply and were reduced to 34 for 3 in the 11th over. But steady batting by Mohammad Nabi (46 not out ) and Hashmatulla Shaidi (13 not out), who put on 62 runs for the fourth wicket, saw them through at 96 for 3 in 20.5 overs.
Earlier, left-arm spinner Hamza Hotak was the pick of the Afghanistan bowlers, finishing with figures of 10-1-19-3.
After 55 matches in the Pepsi ICC World Cricket League Championship, spanning just over two years, Afghanistan won the last match in the league to join Ireland in qualifying for the cricket's biggest spectacle for the first time.
Had Kenya won the match, then the UAE would have made the grade.
Ireland and Afghanistan placed first and second with 24 and 19 points respectively in the World Cricket League Championship points table.
The bottom six sides -- UAE (18 points), the Netherlands (18), Scotland (15), Kenya (10), Namibia (4) and Canada (4) -- along with Hong Kong, Nepal, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Uganda get another chance to qualify when they participate in the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2014 that will be staged in New Zealand in January/February 2014.
Afghanistan will be in Pool A of the tournament -- to be staged in Australia and New Zealand from February 14 to March 29 -- alongside four-time champions Australia and co-host New Zealand, as well as Bangladesh, England and Sri Lanka. Qualifier 4, also part of Pool A, will be confirmed in February next year, during the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier New Zealand 2014.
Pool B comprises South Africa, India, Pakistan, West Indies, Zimbabwe, Ireland and Qualifier 4.

Is India Strong Truly Strong?
Is India Strong Truly Strong?
Incredible India! Mera Bharat Mahan! People are inspired by these huge words, but is this the true image of India? Last 60 years of independence and we have grown, no doubt about that, but is this growth comprehensive? Have our economy truly growth in the big league? I seriously say No!
Here are some of the reasons why I think India has not gone in the league of great powers, no matter what the IMF or world bank says:
1] Last 60 years and Indian Rupee has fallen from Rs 4 to a USD to now Rs 61 to a USD. Is this a sign of progress?
2] In last 60 years our national carrier Air India has gone from one of the best and respected airlines to one of the worst and poorly managed national carriers.
3] Our poor population has actually increased due to rapid inflation which increases by 1% per month!:(
4] Our government is helpless and does not have any clue to rescue either the rupee or our countries economy.
5] We rank at the bottom of countries when it comes to governance.
6] We rank at top of the table when it comes to corruption in government, both at National and state level.
7] Our tourism is pathetically low compare to our true potential thus loosing us billions of $ in raw cash flows.
8] We are too much dependent on FDI and crude oil supplies and pay them in $ rather than our own currency. We must remember that its a buyers market out there and not sellers, so buyers decide what currency they prefer.
9] Our politicians are poor in their education standards and thus lack basic skills to handle day to day government activities.
10] Our governments servants are a bunch of high paid non performing assets which need to be regularized.
Unless and until strong steps are not taken to correct these measures we can never say Mera Bharat Mahan!

Recognize Your Customers If You Want Their Trust
Recognize Your Customers If You Want Their Trust
Several years ago I made plans to fly out and meet with a client once or twice a week for about two months, and my office made eight weeks’ worth of advance reservations for me at a business-oriented hotel conveniently located across the street from the client’s office.
So I went out for my first set of client meetings and then showed up at the hotel that evening to check-in. As the desk clerk was processing my check-in, a manager came out and greeted me by name.
“Hello, Mr. Peppers, welcome to our hotel,” he smiled. I smiled. “Would you mind if we took your picture?”
What? Take a picture? Why? I asked.
Because, he said, you’ve made several reservations with us for future dates, and we'd like to put your picture up on our employee bulletin board on days you plan to check in, so the people on duty can recognize you when you arrive.
It worked. The very next week (and for virtually every visit after that) when I came through the door the bellman smiled and said “Hello, Mr. Peppers, welcome back,” as he offered to help me with my bag. The desk clerk, the cashier at the sundries store, and even the waitress at breakfast all greeted me by name. It was an inexpensive hotel, but I don’t think I ever felt quite so royally treated.
One of the five requirements for being trustable as a business is simply to “demonstrate humanity.” Being human involves many things, including curiosity and intelligence, but in customer relationships all we’re really talking about is showing empathy and respectful familiarity to our customers, almost as if they were our personal friends.
If you want a customer to trust you, treat the customer the way you’d like to be treated yourself, if you were the customer. This doesn’t mean giving your product away at a loss, nor does it mean never disagreeing with a customer. What it does mean is asking yourself at all times whether you would consider your own actions “fair” if you were on the other side. Is this the way a friend would treat a friend?
The sad truth is that the overwhelming majority of businesses don't even take the rudimentary steps necessary to recognize and remember their customers individually. Instead, they operate on what Martha Rogers and I call the "Goldfish Principle," and sometimes the results are almost comically non-personal.
But recognizing and remembering a customer is one of the most effective ways any service business can demonstrate humanity and earn a customer’s trust, and it really doesn’t require a high degree of technology or an overly complex set of processes. It might involve something as simple as taking a customer’s picture, or even counting license plates.
What steps can you take to help your service employees recognize customers, and demonstrate your business's humanity?
